How to show up in ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini answers
When someone asks an AI assistant for a recommendation in your space, it names a handful of brands. Here's how to become one of them.

Search is shifting from a list of ten blue links to a single synthesized answer. When a buyer asks ChatGPT "what are the best tools for X?" or asks Perplexity "who should I hire for Y near me?", the model returns a short list of named brands — and if you're not on it, you're invisible, no matter how well you rank on Google.
Getting named isn't luck. AI assistants pull from the open web (directly, when browsing or grounded in search) and from patterns learned in training. Both reward the same things: clear, quotable content; corroboration across many sources; and unambiguous signals about what you do and who you serve.
1. Answer the question directly, up front
Models quote sources that state the answer plainly. Pages that bury the point under 800 words of preamble get skipped. Lead with a direct, self-contained answer to the question a buyer would ask, then support it.
Practical version: for every important query, have a page whose first paragraph would work as a standalone answer if a model quoted it verbatim.
2. Be corroborated, not just self-declared
An assistant is far more likely to recommend a brand that many independent sources describe consistently. One page saying you're the best does little; ten third-party pages, directories, reviews, and articles describing what you do builds the pattern models rely on.
- •Get listed in the directories and "best of" roundups for your category.
- •Earn reviews on the platforms your buyers (and the models) trust.
- •Make sure your name, category, and location are described the same way everywhere.
3. Make your content machine-readable
Structured data (schema.org), clean headings, FAQ sections, and an llms.txt file all help models understand and extract your content. They don't guarantee a mention, but they remove friction — and they're cheap to add.
4. Measure it, because it's not obvious
AI answers vary by model, phrasing, date, and location. The only way to know whether you're being recommended is to ask the assistants the questions your buyers ask, across many phrasings, and track it over time. That's exactly what Squoze does.
