Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 30, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Squoze (“Squoze,” “we,” “us”) collects, uses, and protects information when you use squoze.io and related services (the “Service”). Squoze measures how often AI assistants mention, cite, and recommend a business.

Information we collect

  • Account information — your email address, optional name, and a securely hashed password. We never store your password in plain text.
  • Project data — the domains, brand names, competitors, and prompts you choose to track.
  • Scan results — the AI responses we collect on your behalf and the scores, mentions, and citations we derive from them.
  • Usage data — basic logs (e.g. scans run) needed to operate the Service and enforce plan limits.
  • Cookies — a single signed, http-only session cookie to keep you logged in. We do not use third-party advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

How we use information

We use your information to provide the Service: to run scans, compute your visibility metrics, generate improvement recommendations, send you transactional email (password resets and the alerts you enable), and to operate, secure, and improve Squoze.

Third-party processors

To deliver the Service, we share limited data with the following providers:

  • AI providers — to measure your visibility, we send prompts (which may include your brand name and domain) to OpenAI (ChatGPT), Anthropic (Claude), Google (Gemini), and Perplexity. Their use of that data is governed by their respective API terms.
  • Hosting & database — Vercel (application hosting) and Neon (PostgreSQL database).
  • Email — Resend, to deliver transactional email.
  • Source control (optional) — if you connect a GitHub repository, we use the GitHub API to open pull requests you review.

What we don't do

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your project data to train AI models. We share data only with the processors above, as needed to run the Service, or where required by law.

Data retention & deletion

We keep your data for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Danger zone; deletion permanently removes your workspace, projects, and scan history. You may also email us to request access to or deletion of your data.

Security

Passwords are stored as one-way hashes, sessions use signed http-only cookies, and all API keys for AI and email providers are stored server-side only and never exposed to your browser. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (e.g. under GDPR or CCPA), you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information, and to object to certain processing. Contact us to exercise these rights.

Children

The Service is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their information.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, by notice in the app.
